LENTIL AND SPINACH SOUP [Calorie Count: 48]
(preparation time: 10 minutes, cooking time: 20 minutes, makes 10 cups.)

Ingredients:


1/2 TEACUP MASOOR DAL
1 TEACUP CHOPPED SPINACH
3 SLICED ONIONS
3 MEDIUM SIZED TOMATOES, CUT INTO BIG PIECES
TEACUP SKIM MILK
2 CLOVES CRUSHED GARLIC (OPTIONAL)
1/4 TEASPOON CHILLI POWDER
SALT TO TASTE


Preparation :
Mix the spinach, onions, tomatoes, masoor dal and garlic. Add 7 teacups of water and cook in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes. When cooked, blend in a mixer. Sieve. Heat the milk and add to the soup. Add the chilli powder and salt.
