CARROT KHICHADI [Calorie Count: 115]


Ingredients:


1 CUP RICE
CUP MOONG DAL
1- CUPS GRATED CARROT
CUP FINELY CHOPPED ONION
1 TSP GINGER PASTE
1 TSP GREEN CHILLI PASTE
CUP CORIANDER LEAVES
2 TBSPS OIL
3 CUPS WATER
TSP TURMERIC POWDER
1 STICK CINNAMON
2 CLOVES
1 CARDAMOM
2 BAY LEAVES
SALT TO TASTE


Preparation :
Pick and wash the rie and dal. Add the grated carrot to it and keep aside, heat the oil. Fry the garam masala (cardamom, cloves and cinnamon) and bay leaves. Heat the oil. Fry the garam masala (cardamom, cloves and cinnamon) and bay leaves. Add theonions and fry till light brown. Add the ginger and green chilli paste. Add the water, rice, dal and carrot with the turmeric powder and salt to taste, pressure cook. Cook for five more minutes after the whistle. Add the coriander leaves and servehot.
