Rimmi Sen
After romancing Abhishek Bachchan in 'Dhoom', Akshay Kumar in 'Garam Masala' and Salman Khan in 'Kyon Ki', the dusky and happening Rimii Sen is ready for her next big release, 'Deewane Huye Paagal', on November 25. Rimmi Sen was first noticed in Priyadarshan's Hungama and from there onwards, there was no looking back for this hot Bengal beauty. Rimmi talks about her career, forthcoming films and her love life.

Excerpts from an interview with SeasonsIndia correspondent Sanyukta.

You are the talk of the town. You have given hits like Hungama and Garam Masala. You gave a brilliant performance in Kyun Ki. How do you feel?
I'm happy that my talent is getting noticed. I haven't ever tried to seek the media attention to project myself. Rather I've always wanted my works to speak. After days of struggles at last things are looking good for me. I'm thankful to the media and the audience for everything. I feel very confident today, for bagging some of the good works and with lots of good project in hand.

Despite being so much in the limelight and bagging some of the big projects, why do you prefer keeping a low profile?
At the end of the day, my work must speak for itself. I dont enjoy bragging about my role and achievement. I've come up the hard way and know what it takes to reach where I've reached. I am a very private person and I do not want to get involved in any controvery or gossip. I must admit that the media has been very kind to me so far. I haven't been at the receiving end of any negative publicity or salacious gossip!

Have you started considering yourself in the league of the big actresses of the time?
No ways. I've a long way to go and they are far ahead of me.

How does it feel to work opposite actors like Akshaye Khanna, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan in your first few films itself?
I couldn't agree more! I have to thank Venus and Priyan sir (Priyadarsan) for giving me 'Hungama' opposite Akshaye and Aftab. I even did a small role for Ravi Sir (Ravi Chopra) in 'Baghban'. It was an absolute pleasure working with Sanjay Gadhvi and Aditya Chopra in 'Dhoom' and Abhishek has come up phenomenally as an actor. Priyan Sir repeated me in 'Kyon Ki' opposite Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and then Firoz Sir signed me for two films ? 'Deewane Huye Paagal' and 'Phir Hera Pheri' opposite Akshay Kumar. So I must admit that I've had a fantastic innings so far and didn't have to start my career doing B & C grade films.

How do you feel to be working in the three biggest releases of the year?
It only adds to my pleasure. I work in three big films and also with the big stars of the industry. Salman, Kareena and myself enjoyed ourselves during 'Kyon Ki'. In 'Garam Masala' I was the surprise package and did the role for Priyan Sir. I had a great time doing the film. I am fortunate to be so lucky. I didn?t have a background in films, nor a mentor to back me up. I would be forever grateful to Priyadarsan for giving me the break in 'Hungama'.

How does it feel to have four men (Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Shahid Kapoor and Suniel Shetty) chasing you in 'Deewane Huye Paagal'?
(Laughs) Rather flattering, if I may say so! 'Deewane Huye Paagal' is a very cute romantic comedy about the extent to which four men (including Paresh Rawal) will go to marry one woman! I am also the only girl in the film so I'm looking forward to its release. It's a film that's as commercial as it gets. You are meant to leave your brains behind and watch it for all its 'masala', grandeur, madness and fun!

Tell us something about your character in the film?
I'm the only heroine in the film. My role is of a simple girl Natasha. I live in Dubai and am very confident. The heroes end up in Dubai and are on a hunt for me. What leads to what, you've to find it yourself at the theatres!

Describe the experience of working with Akshay Kumar?
He's fun to work with on the sets. It's my third film with him. Akshay, Salman and Abhishek are my favourite co-stars. All three are the same in nature. Everyone waits to shoot with them. Their presence on the sets means having fun while working. It?s like a picnic.

What are your forthcoming releases?
'Deewane Huye Paagal' is hitting the screen next week. There is another film with Akshay, Paresh, Suniel and Bipasha under the same banner 'Phir Hera Pheri'. There is Rohit Shetty?s 'Golmaal' a film with Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi. I also have a film in the pipeline with the maker of 'Ek Hasina Thi' Sriram Raghavan.

Is there a role you are dying to play?
I want to play an avenging angel ? like Urmila Matondkar in 'Ek Hasina Thi' or Madhuri Dixit in 'Mrityudand'. Even what Rani (Mukherji) did in 'Black'.

Is there a man in your life?
My career has started on a very encouraging wicket. I've done top-notch work and have some good projects in the queue. So there are no plans of marrying immediately or my career will go for a toss! In any case, I have no man in my life at the moment because I am very fussy when it comes to men. So I'd rather wait patiently before my knight in shining armour comes by! (Smiles) Knowing me, I'll end up marrying a non-filmi man but not for another five years at least!
